KW Suspension Variant 1
KW Variant 1; Sporty in use and a fantastic look. With pre-configured damping at the factory.
The KW-helix set variant 1 from the “inox line” is our entry-level model for more driving pleasure, with an attractive and individually adjustable reduction. The high quality finish, the use of stainless steel struts, corrosion-resistant springs and shock absorbers and the compatible parts not only ensure a long service life for the car, but also for long driving pleasure.
Stepless reduction: KW-schroefset variant 1 ensures maximum reduction within the TÜV-tested range. Depending on the vehicle model, this is between 30 and 70 mm or between 50 and 90 mm. Even after a few years, you can still quickly and easily adjust the height thanks to the dirt-resistant trapezoidal thread and the composite edge. The reduction on the front axle takes place via our composite height adjuster in one piece, on the rear axle this is the same, unless the car has a separate spring and shock absorber. The included height adjuster for the rear is either on top or under the rear spring.
Adjustment: pre-configured damper settings at the factory
KW-coil set variant 1 from the “inox line” has a vehicle-specific, preset damper configuration. The spring and the damper are perfectly adjusted to each other, so that you can enjoy an optimal balance between sportiness and comfort while driving.
Even with full load and maximum axle load, the dampers always make a sporty impression. KW version 1 from the “inox line” is probably very interesting for tuning fans who focus on “show and shine” events.
KW Variant 2 “inox-line”
KW Variant 2; For more stability and driving comfort. With adjustable output damping.
For riders who want more than just an excellent look and lowering in the TÜV-tested range, KW-schroefset variant 2 from the “inox-line” is the perfect solution. Not only do the stainless steel struts and the corrosion-resistant parts ensure excellent durability, you can also adjust the output damping of the dampers to your own requirements (in 16 clicks). All in all, good reasons to buy the KW-schroefset variant 2 from the “inox line”.
More comfort or more sportsmanship? You decide!
As with all KW propeller sets, our engineers also develop vehicle-specific damper settings here, which are subjected to extensive testing procedures at the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring and in the KW center for driving dynamics with seven test points. With a KW screw set you benefit from a more dynamic and more direct driving experience. Because of the adjustable outbound suspension in our KW propeller sets of variant 2 you have more influence on the use and comfort of the car. With 16 precise clicks you can adjust the KW dampers (tighter or more comfortable) without affecting the bottom valve of the compression damper.
Depending on the vehicle type, the output valves of the KW dampers, with a double tube at the top of the piston rod, must be adjusted with an integrated adjustment wheel or with the rotary rotator provided. By adjusting the output force via the adjusting wheel, the movements of the vehicle are reduced. Your car continues to drive straight and you have more stability at higher speeds in curves. If, for example, you replace the wheel-belt combination (with the approval of the car manufacturer) with larger wheels, you can perfectly match the driving behavior of the car and the new wheels with KW-type 2 propeller set.

KW Variant 3 “inox-line”
KW Variant 3; Unlimited individuality in performance and comfort.
Attenuators can be set to evaporate and compression.
Advanced technology from motorsport
With KW-schroefsetvariant 3 from the “inox-line” you get much more than just a sporty reduction and excellent handling on all types of roads. The configuration is based on the driving force of international motorsport, such as the ADAC GT Masters, FIA GT1, FIA GT3, International GT Open, WTC, VLN and the legendary ADAC Zurich 24h race at the Nürburgring.
Just like our racing screw kits from the KW Competition series, the KW-helix set variant 3 can be configured from the “inox line” per wheel in terms of compression and outbound damping. These individual adjustment options are highly appreciated by sports car manufacturers, tuners and drivers all over the world.
You do not need any adjustment tools; a patented compression adjuster is already present on the underside of the stainless steel housing. With the adjustable compression damper with twelve precise clicks. it is perfectly tuned to the outgoing damping.
With the separately adjustable outgoing damping configuration of the KW-screw set variant 3 from the “inox line” you can directly influence the driving behavior and comfort via the precise click adjustment. Depending on the vehicle type, the KW dampers, with a double tube at the top of the piston rod, must be adjusted with an integrated adjustment wheel or rotator provided.
By adjusting the output force through the adjusting wheel, the movements of the vehicle are reduced. This gives you more stability at higher speeds in curves. If, for example, you replace the wheel-tire combination with the KW 3-in-1 variant kit from the “stainless steel line”.

KW dampers and KW springs
A coordinated unit for a sporty driving experience. High-quality components, a vehicle-specific damper manufacturing and damper setup as well as many years of experience in development of suspension kits for the international motor sport is what the KW damper technology characterizes.
The KW coilovers for road vehicles are built after the successful twin-tube damping principle which is also often used for active regulation series suspensions. At twin-tube dampers, the piston housing (inner tube, also called rebound housing) and the differential housing (outer tube) are put together.
The KW spring perch is a completely underrated component. It not only holds the helper spring and main spring at the right position, but it also minimizes the vibration noise of the springs. Depending on the vehicle type and application, KW manufactures the spring perch of high quality aluminum alloy or a polyamide composite material. Whether made of aluminum or the composite material which is also rust resistant, the spring perch which is painted in the typical KW purple is very light weight.
The so-called helper spring is made of high quality chrome silicon steel in flat wire design. It keeps the main spring above the polyamide spring perch under tension, no matter what level of lowering. As soon as the weight of the vehicle presses on the helper spring, all windings are pressed together – the spring “goes on block”.
High strength main spring
Progressive spring rate
At a progressive spring rate, the suspension spring consits of differently strong spring windings. When a force acts, the weak windings give up at first and then the stronger spring windings. The same effect can also be achieved by the use of two springs placed on top of each other.
The high-strength spring made of chrome-silicon steel is vehicle specific adjusted in the respective suspension damper in its spring rate for long life it is multicoated. It is also called the main spring at coilovers. With brands such as KW, the spring “sits” after years just minimally.
Not only the damper or vibration shock absorber of a KW coilover kit affects the springing behaviour but also the KW spring does. The resulting kinetic energy is stored by the spring during compression and converted into heat energy from the damper.
The spring rate tells the amount of force (N) that has to act to the spring, so that it immerses by a millimeter. Simply explained: the higher the spring rate, the stiffer the spring, and the more force must act on the spring to compress it.
Composite collar for height adjustment
KW uses a threaded ring made of a resistant polyamide composite material with a stainless steel insert. Even if dirt particles such as brake dust or sand grains hit the polyamide collar will not be damaged. If anodized aluminum spring perchs are used after repeated lowering adjustment friction of any contamination may cause microcracks on the anodized surface. If the unprotected aluminum threaded ring directly touches the steel or stainless-steel strut thread oxidation will occur. In the worst case, height adjustmant will now not be possible anymore. With the durable KW coilovers in inox-line and the used polyamide collar, this is not the case.
Stainless steel “inox-line” strut housing with integrated shock absorber
The strut housing of KW coilovers are made of high quality stainless steel and are an investment for the entire life of the car. At all weather conditions, the stainless steel KW coilovers are 100 percent corrosion resistant and have an unlimited life.
The functioning of lowering via the dirt-resistant trapezoid thread and the composite collar is designed for long use. During a salt spray test, there was no oxidation of the KW coilover struts. So even after years, the lowering is not affected.
